    Purpose of the Job/Objective



    He/she carries out type, validation or investigation tests, and preparing reports • He/she defines and implements the most appropriate testing methodology and means of testing • He/she develops test operating modes and analyses test results

    Hierarchical : PrEM Project Engineering Manager • Functional : TVE Train Validation Engineer.



     



    Network & Links



    Internal Interfaces : Train System Engineer, Train Control Engineer, System Engineer, Validation Engineer,Technical experts, Warranty Manager • External Interfaces : Test infrastructure providers, Suppliers of test equipment, External Test laboratories Missions Performance Measurement • Timely execution of the test program • % of rework of test report



     



    Responsibilities:



    Define the most appropriate test methodology, testing means and developing the test operating mode in accordance within the costs time and pass-fail criterion set for the test.



    Check and investigate in case of issue seen on the train. Be able to help the Warranty Team to reach the targets for the reliability growth: to help to do some troubleshooting and to indicate the monitoring or the investigation to be done.



    Perform trade off on architecture definition and technically lead the engineering studies in order to reach the performances • Adhesion to baseline on requirements and TS deliverables KPI of PrEM Dashboard • Prepare the tests, the Engineering Test Specialist is responsible for:



    o             Participating in the design and the development of the tools necessary for performing the tests



    o             Implementing, verifying (functional), and ensuring compliance (calibration) of the measuring equipment to be ready at the time of the test.



    o             Preparing the equipment for testing. Validating that the applied configuration and pre requisite testing allows the testing to proceed.



    Respect EHS rules notably implementing LockOutTagOut instruction.



    Supervise and/or execute test activities, analyze test results “live” and decide if test has to be redone or not, write static and dynamic test reports • Technical interface with Warranty in order to provide support to Project Engineering Manager (and PrQWM for some topics during revenue service) • Make arbitration on architecture definition between the subsystems to reach the best compromise at train level,



     



     



    Accountable for:



    train global performances,



    requirement development, using reference and applicable documents as well as Metiers, Standards, Certification, Safety, Platform and Customer documents. For transverse requirement allocations to the various subsystems in close collaboration with the relevant specialists, • operational analysis definition and validation • functional analysis and specification, • train level FMECA in coordination with RAMS team, • ensuring consistency and compatibility between all the sub-systems specifications, • the applicable train configuration.



    Technical open issues resolution in line with project strategy provided by PrEM, from investigation to modification implementation and problem closure, • Providing Return of experience to be implemented in Reference Solutions. Contribute to the RoE committee and documentation update.



     



    V&V activities:



    Accountable for:



    Defining and performing Train verification strategy in close collaboration with all Engineering metiers and Certification & Validation teams.



    Leading the train integration and tuning phase.



    Train level test specifications



     



    QCD and reporting:



    Supports Project Engineering Manager for implementation and update of Engineering risks mitigation plan • Supports to Project Engineering Manager in improvement proposals in term of QCD and during the change order process.



    Perform reporting at project level (to PrEM) and at metier level (TS dashboard)



     



    Knowledge & Experience



    Test execution capability on some of the following domains:



    o AERO : aerodynamics / air passage



    o DIM : dimensional & gauge



    o EMC : electromagnetic Compatibility



    o NOISE : acoustics / noise



    o RDYN : railway dynamics



    o WEIGHT : weight management & allocation o WINTER : winterisation, climatic adaptation o AUX : auxiliary supply o BRAKE o BOGIE o DOORS o EARTHING : safety earthing o FIRE : fire protection system o HORN : horn & headlights o HVAC o LIGHT : internal lighting o PAPIS o RADIO : train radio o TCMS o TRACTION o WINDOW : Passenger window, windscreen and wiper and washing system o TRAIN : train operation • Ability to define, create and maintain test benches • Software Validation • Required electrical habilitation level (french definitions):



    B2V - B2V Essai - BE Essais - BR - BC



    H2V - H2V Essais - HE Essais - HC



    General technical competencies



    More than 5 years in Railways engineering • Communication skills



     



    Team size



    Team coordination and animation of technical team to reach the best compromise • No hierarchical management



     



    Innovation



    Force of proposal for validation methods/tools improvement (from a quality, duration and cost point of view) on his/her scope of activities in particular to decrease the time spent on trains



     



    Educational requirement



    Bachelor Engineering Degree or equivalent experience of minimum 5 years within testing/troubleshooting environment
